There are a few things you should know about their tacos before you make a reservation at Tacolicious. First, they're not authentic Mexican tacos. Second, they cost twice as much as authentic Mexican tacos. Third, they're pretty damn good.
Rock cod, beef short rib, duck, chorizo and potatoes -- all of them delicious and filling. The corn tortillas are thick, and while I appreciate the fact that they don't break easily, they're a little *too* thick for my taste. The tacos are served with three different sauces of varying heat. Green is for mild. Red is for medium. Yellow is for hot hot hot. It's a little counter-intuitive, but try and remember it anyway. Depending on your tolerance for spicy, it could save you a lot of trouble.
Their tuna tostada is on one of 7x7's The Big Eat lists. I don't always agree with that list, but they were pretty spot on with this one. Melt-in-your-mouth tuna sashimi with avocado, leeks and mayo on a crispy tortilla--a play of flavors and texture that you really do need to try before you die.
Top off your hipster taqueria experience with a couple of margaritas, which are always good here. The margaritas are strong and never too sweet or too limey -- perfect for washing away your Mission-gentrification guilt.
